About Me

About Me

I'm Irina, a multidisciplinary artist and photographer.

I work in watercolor, acrylic, digital illustration techniques, ambidextrous continuous line art, paper sculpture and I shoot street photography.

My practice as an artist started around 2014, my main creative mediums being watercolor and acrylic. I love trying new things so I often turned to adding craft elements to my work.

In 2020 I started drawing with both hands, this was an ongoing experiment at first, where I was trying to figure out if I can do it at all, then if I can draw in different directions simultaneously, honing the eye measurements as I don't make sketches before drawing and start from empty paper.

It took me many hours of practice and at the beginning I could draw maybe 4-5 minutes and then migraines came. It was a stage and it passed, now I know my limits and can stop when tired and the time limit went up significantly.

In September 2024 I bought a wonderful old chest with a set of limited edition Waterman indian inks - and it was an instant love. I made huge progress in my style while completing 30 days of Inktober only with ambidextrous ink work.

All of them can be found on my Drip https://drip.haus/ambi

I have several topics that are interesting to me in my work.

Most relaxing and swift is drawing/painting birds and nature. I love happy tropical vibe and sea birds.

Inspirational and challenging is creating fantasy stories, sometimes steampunk inspired, weird creatures, storytelling.

My deep thoughts reflect in body positive art, significant part of my work is centered around female bodies, freedom of expression, feminist concerns.

Thank you for reading this far. I will share more about my art process and inspirations in the BTC section.
